Oligo Antigenic Elimination Diet to Avoid Antigenic Foods

The only way is to do an elimination diet or allergy avoidance diet or oligo antigenic diet which is considered as the "gold-standard".  An allergy avoidance diet allows the body to completely remove the food antigen providing no reason for the formation of antibodies which will then also disappear. Here is an easy way to Avoid Antigenic Foods With Oligo Antigenic Elimination Diet.

How to Identify Food Antigens and Avoid Triggers

Oligo Antigenic Elimination Diet

A food and symptom diary needs to be kept to focus on what kind of symptoms are produced after consuming each food. After a period of two to three weeks, foods one-by-one that have been avoided initally can be carefully re-introduced.

This re-introduction of foods is called the "Challenge" phase of an allergy avoidance diet. Only one suspected food should be reintroduced at a time for a period of two to four days per food. This because it usually take some time for delayed-response symptoms to appear.

Lectin-Free Diet

Lectin is a type of carbohydrate protein that sticks to the cell membranes in the digestive tract. It is considered as agglutinins in nature. Agglutinins are substances in the blood that causes particles to coagulate and aggregate. They can bind with other particles and make sticky mass particles.

They are majorly found in legumes such as Red kidney beans, Soybeans,  Castor beans, Peanuts, nightshade vegetables such as Tomatoes, Potatoes, dairy products and grains, such as barley, quinoa, Wheat and rice.

In the article "Lectins, Agglutinins, and Their Roles in Autoimmune Reactivities", it is stated that avoiding lectins is a key method to get beneficial response for some auto immune patients. New study determines that role for the lectin pathway complement in glomerular complement activation in IgAN.

Major way to reduce the lectin amount is by cooking, sprouting, or fermenting foods. You can check out Lectin free list of foods such as apple, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, lemon, mushrooms, okra, onions, flax seeds, garlic and ginger.
